Duncan Cunningham Engineering Consultants was formed in August 2006 and offers unrivalled engineering and market expertise to companies in the marine, oil and gas and industrial valve sectors.

Principal Director Duncan Cunningham has over 25 years experience in the marine and mechanical engineering industries.  Previously Chairman and Managing Director of the renowned Young & Cunningham Group, Duncan has had responsibility for the design and production of electro hydraulic, electro pneumatic and electric valve control and tank level gauging systems for use on board ships, oil rigs and distilleries before assuming day to day operational control of the company.

Duncan has experience in growing the company to one with a global reach, with customers in Europe, USA and the Far East, which enables him to offer clients a broad range of services built on his practical knowledge of the marine, oil and gas and industrial valve sectors.  In recent times he has negotiated the buyout of the joint venture partners of Young & Cunningham Canada Inc and Young & Cunningham America Inc at a value of $1,000,000, managed a small group of autonomous companies with a combined turnover of £10 million and placed a wide range of British equipment with the US Naval Programme.

Duncan is a currently a Director of the Society of Maritime Industries and Denholm Valvecare Limited, a Fellow of both the Institute of Marine Engineering Science & Technology and of the Institute of Engineers & Shipbuilders in Scotland; and is a Member of Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
